My family is seriously because moving to the Greenville area shortly. I am looking into taking classes at GTC, and so that is one reason. The other beingness our love for the southern states! We lived in Goose Creek, sc for two one/two years & wish nosotros knew more about the school districts earlier nosotros rented, even so we liked the area, especially downtown Charleston, but now nosotros're looking to be closer to the mountains! So our principal concern is getting in a bully public schoolhouse commune (kids are 3,iv,9,11)! Also, great neighborhood/surface area recommendations would be appreciated. As well, are the ponds/lakes/rivers easily accessible? Thanks!!! (If you have any more insight for a family of half-dozen moving to the surface area, that would be great)

I'g going to link some other thread where I gave an answer to a similar question earlier today: //www.metropolis-data.com/forum/greenish...-family-2.html There are tons of smashing neighborhoods in the area - it would be hard to give a recommendation without more than information about what you are looking for in a home (toll, lot size, amenities, etc.) Pretty much all of the lakes and rivers in the expanse are accessible - what activities are you looking for (angling, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, swimming, etc.)?

All public schools in Greenville County are part of the aforementioned district, then at least on paper they are the same.

BC, there are numerous threads on schools, neighborhoods, activities, etc - just use the "search" function at the top (search just in this sub-forum). Greenville'due south downtown/Falls Park is amazing and is a benchmark for downtown revitalization. The largest lakes in the Upstate are Hartwell, Keowee, and Jocassee - about 45 min to 1+ 60 minutes drive from Greenville. Last edited past drfranklin; 07-24-2014 at 08:45 AM..

Anderson District 1 is one of the all-time. I live in the Powdersville surface area and I like the schools. The high schools in that district are Wren, Powdersville and Palmetto, with Powdersville just open for iii years now. You will exist happy you fabricated the move.

The thread Whitewater mentioned is a good resource for you. There's lots of talk about areas and schools. When my wife and I moved here with our two boys, my wife spent a lot of time on the Groovy Schools website. We eventually settled in Greer and love information technology. It's 15 minutes from downtown Greenville, close to shopping and dining, and the schools are great. We travel to the mountains often and Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee are our favorites. Our boys similar the lake at Table Rock because it has a big diving board. And I hear that Lake Jocassee has a big stone y'all can allow the kids jump off of, but we oasis't found it yet. Macaroni Kid is a skilful resource for family things to practice while you're in the area. Have you visited Greenville yet?

We have friends that camp there every summer and in that location is a pocket-size rock where their kids jump off, maybe almost the aforementioned summit equally the diving lath at Table Rock. It'due south definitely not in the public non-camping ground areas and although they've tried to tell me where it is, I have yet to find it. They say it's a popular spot, merely I tin't find anything about it online. |

Thank you all for responding!!! We oasis't visited Greenville yet, but plan to in the near future. I know we'll love it, as nosotros enjoyed our offset move to Goose creek, only left because family unit was upwards north and nosotros wanted the trivial ones to get to know their grandparents. I love SC and upstate seems to be similar to the outdoors upwards n, with the added mountain bonus! Plus its not a bad drive to spend the day/weekend at the gorgeous beaches WhitewaterVol, we are interested in fishing, swimming, kayaking and any new adventures we tin find!
